Motorola has launched the Pad 70 Groove in India, aiming to merge a tablet with a high performance wireless speaker. The device features a massive 12.1 inch display alongside a 9 speaker JBL audio setup that pumps out 48W of sound. It hits retail shelves later this week priced at roughly 410 dollars.
Most tablets treat audio as an afterthought, but Motorola made sound the defining feature here. The integrated JBL audio system packs 4 tweeters, 3 low frequency woofers, and 2 passive radiators. To make the hardware more versatile, a Bluetooth Speaker mode lets you connect your phone and play music even when the screen is off. The setup also supports Dolby Atmos and carries Hi Res Audio certification.
The front of the tablet is dominated by a 12.1 inch IPS display running at 120Hz. The panel pushes a 2560x1600 resolution and climbs to 800 nits of peak brightness, making it readable in bright environments. For colors, it covers 98% of the DCI P3 gamut and supports Dolby Vision. Under the hood, a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 processor runs the show. It comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, which you can expand up to 2TB using a microSD card.
The physical build relies on a metal chassis that measures 6.8 millimeters thick and weighs 775 grams. An IP52 rating offers basic protection against dust and water splashes. On the back, a Kickstand 2.0 mechanism allows for a full 360 degree rotation. This means you can prop the tablet up at any angle on a desk.
According to the official specifications shared during the launch, a 10200 mAh battery powers the hardware, and the software runs on Android 16. For photography and video calls, the tablet relies on a 13 megapixel rear camera and an 8 megapixel front camera. Consumers in India can purchase the device starting this Friday.
