Nubia has launched the Pad Plus, an affordable 12 inch tablet built specifically for multimedia consumption. The device features a 90 Hz screen, a quad speaker setup with Widevine L1 support, and an 8000 mAh battery. It is currently available in Japan starting at $500.
The front of the tablet is dominated by a 12 inch IPS panel running at a 2000x1200 resolution with a 90 Hz refresh rate. Power comes from a Unisoc T820 processor combined with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The system runs on Android 16 out of the box, providing modern software support without excessive interface clutter.
An 8000 mAh battery supplies power to the hardware, supported by 26W wired fast charging. According to official testing figures, a single charge delivers 7.6 hours of video playback or 9.5 hours of web browsing. For media streaming, the tablet includes Widevine L1 certification to guarantee high definition playback across streaming platforms. Sound is handled by 4 built in speakers, and users still get a physical headphone jack for wired audio.
Camera hardware includes a 13 MP rear sensor and an 8 MP front camera for video calls. Wireless connectivity covers Wi Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0, while the shell carries an IPX2 rating for basic splash resistance. Nubia sells the slate exclusively in a gray finish for $249 in Japan. Buyers can also pick up an optional keyboard case with an integrated touchpad for $65.
