OnePlus has announced the N6x, a budget smartphone built for long battery life and physical durability. The device packs a massive 7000 mAh battery and a rugged shell for a starting price of 200 dollars. But buyers outside of India will have to wait since availability is currently limited to pre orders in that region.
The phone prioritizes core hardware essentials over expensive extras. It features a 6.8 inch LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 1570x720 pixels. Inside, the device runs on a 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 6360 Apex processor with a maximum speed of 2.4 GHz. To keep temperatures low during heavy tasks, the company installed a 5300 square millimeter vapor cooling chamber.
Memory configurations are basic, offering 4GB of RAM paired with either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. If you need more space, you can expand the storage up to 2TB using a microSD card. The battery is the real selling point here. It has a 7000 mAh capacity that OnePlus claims can last for up to 2.5 days of normal use. The battery supports 15W charging and is designed to maintain 80% of its health even after 1600 charge cycles, which equates to roughly 6 years of daily use. It also supports bypass charging and 5W reverse charging to power other gadgets.
The chassis is built to survive rough handling. It meets military grade MIL STD 810H durability standards and carries an IP64 rating for dust and water protection. To achieve this, the company used a reinforced aluminum frame, impact resistant corners, and internal shock absorbers behind a sheet of tempered glass. This rugged build explains why the phone is heavier than typical budget models.
While the back of the phone features a large camera housing, there is actually only 1 physical sensor inside. That single rear camera is a 13 MP lens, while a 5 MP sensor sits inside the front screen for selfies. Connectivity options include 5G, Wi Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.4. A side fingerprint scanner manages biometrics, and a classic 3.5 mm headphone jack sits at the bottom, which is a rare sight on modern phones.
Pre orders are already open in India. According to pricing details published on the official OnePlus web store, the 64GB version costs roughly 200 dollars, while the 128GB option goes for 220 dollars. OnePlus has not yet shared plans regarding a broader global release.
