Watercool has launched the HEATKILLER V, marking its first major CPU water block redesign in over 10 years. The German cooling manufacturer built the cooler with upgraded internal flow channels and integrated ARGB lighting across PRO and ULTRA variants. Initial availability focuses strictly on AMD platforms, with retail pricing starting at €159.95.

The new generation completely reworks the cold plate, cooling fins, flow distribution, and mounting hardware compared to the older HEATKILLER IV. Watercool split the new product family into 2 distinct performance tiers based on internal geometry. The standard PRO model uses 0.25 millimeter fin spacing. The flagship ULTRA version tightens that gap to an ultra dense 0.15 millimeters to maximize copper surface contact area with the coolant.
At launch, the water block supports AMD AM4 and AM5 motherboard sockets exclusively. Buyers can select between raw copper or nickel plated internal cold plates depending on their visual preference. The initial production run features a transparent acrylic top housing 43 low power ARGB LEDs to illuminate the liquid channel. Watercool plans to release an all metal version later this year in October for builders who prefer an opaque design.
Both variants are available directly from the official Watercool online storefront with European value added tax included. The HEATKILLER V PRO retails for €159.95, while the tighter finned HEATKILLER V ULTRA costs €179.95. The redesigned mounting structure applies balanced pressure over the processor heat spreader, giving custom loop enthusiasts a modern thermal solution for high wattage desktop processors.
