Acer has introduced the Predator Atlas 7, a compact 7 inch Windows gaming handheld unveiled at IFA. The device shrinks the footprint of the earlier 8 inch Atlas 8 while packing Intel Arc G3 processors and a 120Hz screen into a frame that sheds up to 70 grams. It targets mobile players who want full PC power in a smaller build.
Under the hood, the handheld runs on Intel Arc G3 or G3 Extreme silicon. Memory configurations go up to 24GB of LPDDR5X 7467 RAM, paired with 1TB of M.2 2280 PCIe Gen4 NVMe solid state storage. The front features a 7 inch IPS panel with a 1920x1200 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It pushes 500 nits of brightness and covers 100% of the sRGB color space, delivering clear visuals during fast action titles.
Acer engineered 2 separate battery configurations to keep the device light. The 80Whr model weighs under 750 grams, which is 60 grams lighter than its 8 inch predecessor. The 60Whr edition drops the weight below 700 grams, cutting 70 grams from the original design. Heat management is handled by a dual fan system that uses 1 metal fan to pull hot air away from the processor during long sessions.
Physical controls include TMR or carbon film joysticks alongside Hall effect analog triggers to prevent stick drift over time. For audio, the device houses 2 2W speakers and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Port selection is generous for a handheld, featuring 2 Thunderbolt 4 connections and a microSD UHS II card slot for rapid storage expansion.
