Honor has launched the Honor Life S3, an ultralight e ink reader that snaps directly to the back of a smartphone with magnets. Featuring a 3.68 inch eye friendly display and up to 20 days of standby time, the portable slab is designed for reading on the go. The reader is currently listed on Chinese ecommerce platforms starting at 359 yuan.
Glare reduction is the primary appeal here. The device carries a 3.68 inch soft light e ink panel that outputs a sharp 259 PPI resolution. Honor built the interface around simple touch gestures. Tapping anywhere on the panel flips the page. Measuring only 5.6 millimeters thick and weighing 61 grams, the chassis stays completely unobtrusive when snapped onto a phone. It offers a dedicated reading surface without adding the bulk of a full tablet.
Battery stamina is another strong point for such a tiny gadget. You get up to 30 hours of continuous offline reading on a single charge. For casual bookworms, Honor claims 1 charge easily lasts a full week of daily reading. Standby time reaches 20 days. You can leave it in a bag without worrying about a dead cell when you want to read.
Loading books does not require fiddling with cables. The device includes Wi Fi 6 hardware, letting you push digital texts wirelessly through the Honor Smart Space app. Format support is broad. It reads epub, pdf, mobi, doc, docx, and standard txt files without conversion issues. Storage will not be an issue either. An onboard TF expansion slot supports memory cards up to 1TB, leaving plenty of room for massive digital libraries.
