Thunderobot has opened pre orders for its Station Series AI Workstation featuring the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor. Packed into a tiny 2 liter chassis, the mini PC includes 128GB of fast LPDDR5X memory, a 1TB PCIe Gen4 SSD, and dual 10GbE network ports. Initial pricing in China starts at 26999 yuan which is roughly $3720 USD, though official global availability has not yet been confirmed.
The system is built around AMD Strix Halo architecture. While this initial configuration carries the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 chip, the company also plans to release an upgraded model with the Ryzen AI Max+ 495 in the future. To provide enough bandwidth for intensive artificial intelligence tasks and graphics rendering, the board carries 128GB of LPDDR5X memory running at 8000 plus speeds. Internal storage starts with a 1TB PCIe Gen4 solid state drive, and the motherboard provides 2 extra M.2 slots for storage expansion.
Cooling high power hardware in a compact body is tricky. Thunderobot uses an aluminum alloy midframe paired with a custom thermal module that packs 4 heat pipes and 3 separate cooling fans. This setup manages a total power draw of up to 132W. Despite the high performance, the entire computer occupies just 2 liters of desk space. Wireless connectivity is handled by a card supporting Wi Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.
The port selection puts many full desktop towers to shame. Up front, you get an SD UHS II card reader, 1 USB C port running at 40Gbps, 2 USB A ports at 10Gbps, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The rear panel adds another 40Gbps USB C port, 2 additional USB A ports, HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4, and 2 separate 10GbE ethernet jacks for ultra fast local networking.
Thunderobot has set the launch price in China at 26999 yuan, which converts to around $3720 USD. Buyers qualifying for regional subsidies can pick up the unit for 25499 yuan, or roughly $3515 USD. General retail shipments are scheduled to roll out in China next month.
