Xiaomi has announced that the Xiaomi 18 Pro will officially launch later this month, marking what the brand calls the largest upgrade in its flagship lineup. The device introduces a customizable secondary rear screen that works with generative AI features alongside major camera and battery improvements. A teaser clip circulated by Xiaomi on official social channels gives an early look at the secondary display in action. The screen shows vibrant pulsing lights surrounding the text generating in the center, pointing to on device artificial intelligence creation. Xiaomi Group president Lu Weibing stated that user demand for back screens is diverse, pushing the team to engineer a more advanced setup to expand functionality.
The decision to double down on the rear display follows heavy user engagement with the previous generation. Xiaomi reported that owners interacted with rear screen application cards over 4,000,000 times daily on the Xiaomi 17 Pro. Wallpapers on the rear display saw more than 3,500,000 daily additions. These engagement numbers convinced the brand to turn the secondary screen into a central pillar of the new flagship.
Beyond the rear screen, the Xiaomi 18 Pro aims to deliver major gains in processing power, camera quality, and total battery capacity. the official teasers will continue to roll out tomorrow with deeper hardware details.
