Xiaomi 18 Pro Series Confirmed with 2nm Chip and Giant 8500mAh Battery

Xiaomi has officially confirmed the upcoming launch of the Xiaomi 18 Pro series, showcasing massive upgrades across display design, processing speed, and battery capacity. The new flagship lineup features a 2nm mobile platform, a Leica dual 200MP camera system, and battery sizes reaching up to 8500mAh. But buyers should prepare for higher retail costs, as company leadership confirmed a price increase is coming.

Xiaomi is not hiding the price bump. Following questions from fans about whether the new hardware will exceed the 5699 yuan about 850.90$ US starting price of the previous 17 Pro, company leadership addressed the topic directly. Xiaomi Partner and President Lu Weibing confirmed that prices will rise, but expressed confidence that customers will accept the change once they see the hardware improvements.

It will go up, but I believe everyone will find it reasonable.

Lu Weibing described the upcoming release as the biggest generational leap in the history of the Xiaomi digital flagship line. He stated that the upgrades focus heavily on 4 core areas: raw performance, the rear secondary screen, main display quality, and camera hardware. The company is positioning these improvements as a major technical shift rather than a standard yearly refresh.

The hardware list is stacked. On the front, the phone uses an ultra narrow 0.99mm bezel design that wraps around a new generation super pixel display. This screen uses the new M11 luminescent material system to improve brightness and power efficiency. Under the hood, the entire series runs on a 2nm flagship mobile platform. Photography duties are handled by a Leica dual 200MP ultra clear camera setup designed to deliver top tier image resolution.

Battery size is where Xiaomi is making its most aggressive push. The lineup uses new Jinshajiang battery technology containing 32% ultra high silicon content. This design allows for unprecedented energy density in a slim frame. The standard Xiaomi 18 Pro packs a 7000mAh battery, while the larger Xiaomi 18 Pro Max carries a massive 8500mAh pack. Full availability and regional retail figures will be confirmed during the official presentation later this week.
