8BitDo has launched the Ultimate 3C+ wireless controller, bringing adjustable tension TMR joysticks and Hall effect triggers to an affordable hardware tier. The pad delivers low latency 1000 Hz polling on Windows alongside up to 32 hours of battery life. Advance orders are open now at $40 with retail shipments scheduled for later this month.
The Ultimate 3C+ uses an asymmetrical layout modeled after standard Xbox controllers. The primary mechanical upgrade centers on the TMR joysticks, which allow players to physically adjust stick tension resistance. Dual Hall effect triggers offer 2 operational modes alongside dedicated vibration motors that synchronize with the primary gamepad rumble. For extra inputs, 8BitDo placed L4 and R4 buttons on the top edge, plus 2 rear paddle buttons equipped with a physical lock to prevent accidental clicks.
The controller connects to Windows PCs through a 2.4 GHz wireless adapter or a USB Type C cable, both operating at a 1000 Hz polling rate. The wireless receiver snaps magnetically to the rear chassis for easy transport. Android devices pair using Bluetooth 5.4 LE. A 500 mAh battery provides 20 hours of playtime over 2.4 GHz wireless or up to 32 hours when using Bluetooth.
To reach the lower $40 price point, 8BitDo removed several extras found on the more expensive Ultimate 3 Wireless. This model excludes swappable directional pads, extra stick caps, a 3.5 mm headphone port, and the standalone charging dock. Buyers can select between Stealth Black, Avocado Green, and Frost White color options.
