Apple has introduced HomeView, a dedicated smart display that combines home controls with a speaker base. The device features a 7 inch Liquid Retina screen, an A18 processor, and facial recognition for up to 6 family members. Retail pricing starts at $299 with orders open across select countries, though European Union availability is delayed.
The device uses an aluminum frame with a stainless steel tilt hinge connecting the display to the speaker base. Apple also sells a dedicated wall mount edition in silver, light gold, pink, and gray finishes. The 7 inch Liquid Retina panel adjusts between 0.3 and 500 nits of brightness and supports True Tone color temperature matching. For sound output, the acoustic base contains 2 full range drivers firing toward the listener, 1 low frequency woofer, and 2 passive radiators with automatic bass leveling.
Sensors identify up to 6 individual users to display custom home screens with personal calendars, messages, and reminders. The interface integrates Siri AI for contextual requests, drawing information from paired iPhones or iPads running Apple Intelligence. For home monitoring, HomeView manages lighting, thermostats, motorized shades, and smart door locks while streaming up to 9 live security camera feeds on a single screen. With an active iCloud+ subscription, the system identifies people, pets, packages, and vehicles, alongside acoustic detection for home smoke alarms.
The device runs on the A18 processor and uses Secure Exclaves to isolate camera and microphone data from the main system. Private user data appears on screen only when the hardware confirms the presence of an unlocked paired phone or tablet nearby. Advance orders cost $299 for both desktop and wall versions. Wall mount accessories include a USB Type C power plate for $59.95, a hardwired mains kit for $79.95, and a Power over Ethernet version arriving in early 2027 for $129.95. European Union distribution remains on hold due to regional restrictions on Siri AI.
