Solo developer Irmstoi has released update 0.21.0 for dark fantasy action title Conquest Dark. The patch introduces the Necrolord class, AI driven companion mechanics, and the First Graves ritual zone. Players can access the update directly on Steam as part of the ongoing early access development cycle.
The Necrolord merges mechanics from 3 separate dark archetypes: the minion summoner, the affliction warlock, and the armored death knight. Characters can wear heavy plate armor, wield two handed melee weapons, and cast rot curses while raising skeletal thralls to fight. To support this summoner playstyle, update 0.21.0 adds an automated companion mechanic. These computer controlled allies scale with player attributes and attack whatever target the player selects.
Combat rules now incorporate Umbral damage, an unblockable element linked to the Black Planet that bypasses all enemy resistance ratings. Landing Umbral damage applies the Cursed status, which cuts enemy movement speed by 50%, drops their outgoing damage by 50%, and increases their incoming damage taken by 25%. Players can test these mechanics in The First Graves, a frozen ritual area with 3 new boss battles. The update also adds deterministic Runewords, allowing players to socket specific combinations of 3 or 5 runes to secure predictable passive stat bonuses.
The Forlorn arrive as a playable faction of northern exiles, with distinct passive bonuses planned for an upcoming balance patch. On the technical side, the update rewrites the internal save structure. Save data now sorts by Steam user ID within the local Windows directory to stop files from overwriting during family sharing or multi account usage. Balance updates also adjust attack reach ranges and restrict mobility stats on heavy armor pieces to keep combat grounded.
