Google Play Adds Personal AI App Generation for Standard Accounts

Google has introduced an AI generation tool in the Play Store that allows everyday users to build and run custom applications without a developer account. The system relies on Google AI Studio for creation and launches the software privately on personal devices. The feature is rolling out to US users over 18 years old with global expansion planned for later.

Users create applications through Google AI Studio and run them directly on their personal hardware via Google Play. These generated projects stay private and do not appear in the public store catalog. Sharing features for close contacts will roll out in upcoming months. Public distribution on the store still requires a registered developer account and standard platform security checks.

Google also added 2 new discovery tools to the platform. Ask Play compares applications side by side and highlights main differences based on existing user reviews. Game Finder recommends titles matching specific player preferences across genres, mechanics, and visual design. Both tools rely on Gamer DNA, a metric that tracks individual play history and gaming interests. These discovery features are launching first in English for users located in the United States.
