Honor X8e Launches with 7700 mAh Battery and IP69K Protection

Honor has launched the X8e, a rugged midrange smartphone packing a 7700 mAh battery and a reinforced body built to survive 2.5 meter drops. The device pairs a 6.87 inch 120 Hz screen with IP69K hot water resistance and an underwater camera mode. It is currently available in Azerbaijan starting at $402 for the 6/256 GB configuration.

Honor built the phone to survive harsh physical conditions. The chassis carries IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings, protecting internal components against high pressure water jets and boiling water. SGS certification confirms drop resistance from heights up to 2.5 meters. Laboratory trials included a 24 hour salt fog test and basic operation across temperatures ranging from minus 30 to plus 50 degrees Celsius. The display also tracks wet finger inputs accurately without phantom touches.

Up front, the 6.87 inch LCD panel delivers a resolution of 1592x720 pixels, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness reaching 1020 nits. Computing relies on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 processor with an Adreno 610 graphics unit. MagicOS 10 based on Android 16 runs out of the box. The rear imaging system uses a 108 MP camera with an f/1.75 aperture capable of recording 1080p video and capturing photos underwater.

The 7700 mAh battery supports 45W wired Honor SuperCharge speeds. Wireless support covers Wi Fi 5, NFC, and Bluetooth 4.2. Audio playback supports multiple high resolution streaming codecs, including LDAC, aptX, aptX HD, and LHDC 5.0. Retail pricing starts at $402 for the model with 6GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage.
