Intel Plans To Release Nova Lake and 700 TOPS Razor Lake AX for Robotics

Intel is targeting the humanoid robotics market with plans to release its Nova Lake and Razor Lake AX processors for physical artificial intelligence. Revealed at an industry conference in South Korea, the upcoming hardware roadmap aims to push platform performance up to 700 TOPS. Commercial deployment will begin in early 2027 with Nova Lake, followed by Razor Lake AX in 2028.

According to reporting by Korean outlet The Elec, Intel Senior Vice President Cho Min sung detailed the company roadmap during the Semiconductors Driving Humanoid Robots conference. Intel plans to release Nova Lake in early 2027 to power robotics and physical artificial intelligence workloads. The company will follow that release with Razor Lake AX in 2028. This secondary platform delivers 700 TOPS of total compute, representing a massive upgrade over the 180 TOPS found in Panther Lake.

Razor Lake AX represents the first commercial SoC from Intel to combine a wide memory bus with large integrated graphics silicon. The chip retains the standard Nova Lake core architecture but integrates either 16 or 32 Xe3P graphics cores. This configuration targets real time machine vision and intensive AI inference required by autonomous robotics hardware.
