Lenovo has launched the IdeaPad Vibe 15Q8X12, a 15.3 inch laptop running on Qualcomm Snapdragon silicon. The machine hits up to 30 hours of continuous video playback from a 50 Wh battery, nearly doubling the endurance of its AMD counterpart. The laptop is available in the US market starting at $799.
Lenovo built the laptop around the Snapdragon X X1 26 100 processor. The internal 50 Wh battery delivers up to 30 hours of local 1080p video playback at a screen brightness of 150 nits. By comparison, the AMD edition using the exact same battery capacity stops at 16.8 hours under identical testing conditions. This ARM architecture provides a major efficiency upgrade for mobile workloads without requiring a larger physical battery.
Buyers can configure the laptop with 8GB, 16GB, or 32GB of soldered memory alongside 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of solid state storage. Lenovo offers 2 display panels for the 15.3 inch screen. The base option is an IPS display with a 1920x1200 resolution running at 60 Hz or 120 Hz. The premium choice is an OLED panel running at a 2160x1352 resolution with a 120 Hz refresh rate.
