MINISFORUM has confirmed the launch of the S5, its first fanless all flash AI NAS. The desktop system runs on the Intel Core 3 processor 304 and includes 5 M.2 solid state drive slots for silent local storage. The hardware goes on sale in mainland China later this month, with international release plans still unannounced.
The S5 uses an aluminum alloy exterior paired with an internal fin group to achieve passive heat dissipation. The entire chassis weighs 1.8 kilograms and operates with zero mechanical fans. By removing moving parts, the cooling system eliminates operational noise and prevents internal dust accumulation during continuous operation.
MINISFORUM builds the system on the Intel Wildcat Lake architecture using the Intel Core 3 processor 304. For data storage, the mainboard includes 5 PCIe Gen4 x1 M.2 2280 slots. This all flash arrangement targets high speed file transfers and local artificial intelligence tasks without the vibration of mechanical drives.
Network connectivity includes 2 separate Ethernet jacks, featuring 1 high speed 10GbE RJ45 port alongside 1 standard 2.5GbE RJ45 port. Wireless network access uses Wi Fi 7 hardware. Peripheral connections include 2 USB C 40Gbps ports for fast external drive transfers, giving the small chassis broad expansion capability.
