Neurable One Headphones Track Mental Strain with 12 EEG Sensors

Neurable has launched the One, a pair of audio headphones designed to double as a personal brain tracker. The device embeds 12 EEG sensors into the ear cushions to measure cognitive strain, focus, and stress throughout the day. The headphones are now available for purchase priced at $499.

Neurable integrates 12 EEG sensors directly into the fabric of the ear cushions. These sensors read electrical brain activity to track focus levels, mental speed, and overall cognitive load. A companion mobile application for iOS and Android displays these metrics through a score called Brain Battery. This calculation combines stress levels, sleepiness, and daily mental exertion into a single percentage.

The software detects when user attention begins to drift. A feature called Smart Brain Break alerts the wearer to rest when mental fatigue reaches critical levels. The headphones also feature neuroadaptive audio, automatically shifting volume output based on cognitive alertness. For privacy concerns, Neurable encrypts all biometric data on the hardware before routing it through the phone to company analysis servers.
