Targus has launched the DOCK402, a compact mobile docking station featuring an integrated 140W gallium nitride charger. The unit connects to laptops using a single full function USB C cable that handles both data routing and system charging. The accessory is available now in the US market for $139.99 and includes a 3 year warranty.
The chassis measures 3.13 inches wide, 3.13 inches long, and 2 inches tall. Targus provides 5 downstream ports for peripherals and external displays. The port layout features 2 USB A ports supporting 10Gbps speeds, 1 USB C port supporting 10Gbps speeds, 1 HDMI output, and 1 gigabit RJ 45 ethernet connection. This arrangement delivers full desktop connectivity in a portable cubic shape.
The built in GaN charging hardware outputs up to 140W directly through the main USB C upstream connection. This provides enough energy to operate demanding laptops while powering connected accessories simultaneously. Software compatibility spans Windows, macOS, iPadOS, Android, Chrome OS, and Linux. This combination of internal power components and cross platform support lets users travel without carrying a separate power brick.
