Zspace Launches Z4Air Four Bay AI NAS with HiSilicon Octa Core Processor

Zspace has launched the Z4Air, a four bay network attached storage enclosure powered by an 8 core HiSilicon Hi3781V730 processor. The device combines a 136TB maximum storage capacity with local AI album sorting, Docker support, and dedicated in car infotainment integration. Retail pricing begins at 2099 yuan ($290 USD), with introductory promotions dropping the purchase price to 1899 yuan ($262 USD).

Zspace builds the Z4Air around the HiSilicon Hi3781V730 processor. This chip uses 8 64 bit Cortex A73 cores running at 1.8GHz, delivering a 12.8% processing gain over the Rockchip RK3588. A 6 core Mali G52MC6 graphics unit and a built in NPU with 4 TOPS of INT8 computing power handle local computational workloads. System memory stands at 4GB paired with 32GB of internal flash storage. The setup runs non stop, managing simultaneous file transfers, multiple real time 4K video transcodes, and Docker containers without performance drops.

The chassis accommodates 4 SATA drive bays alongside 1 NVMe M.2 solid state drive slot, enabling up to 136TB of total capacity. Each SATA bay supports mechanical hard drives up to 32TB, while the separate M.2 slot accepts SSDs up to 8TB. Cooling relies on a direct flow path with gradual air vents and floating drive trays. A cushioned internal connection structure reduces mechanical vibration to keep acoustic noise levels low during continuous read and write operations.

Software functionality runs on the proprietary ZOS operating system. The interface supports direct computer style file operations, media streaming for 4K video and lossless music, cloud synchronization, and Docker deployment. Network access extends to Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, and HarmonyOS platforms. The system also includes direct car connectivity, featuring preconfigured applications for vehicle dashboards from BYD, Li Auto, Deepal, and Changan, along with native Apple CarPlay integration.

Hardware connectivity includes 1 2.5GbE network jack, 1 HDMI 2.0b port, USB 3.2, USB 2.0, and 1 Type C port. NFC pairing allows users to register mobile devices with a physical tap. Base pricing starts at 2099 yuan ($290 USD) on JD. An immediate launch discount lowers the checkout price to 1899 yuan ($262 USD), with regional subsidy coupons further reducing the final cost to 1486.01 yuan ($205 USD). Zspace also sells optional drive bundles containing Western Digital Red Plus hard drives.
