OnePlus Ace 3 Pro Boasts IRX-Certified Gaming Thanks to Pixelworks Partnership

OnePlus has teamed up with Pixelworks to bring enhanced gaming performance to its latest flagship, the Ace 3 Pro. The phone features Pixelworks' X7 Gen 2 display co-processor, which works alongside the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 to deliver a superior gaming experience.

Here's how it works: the X7 Gen 2 utilizes AI to identify and render less demanding in-game elements at lower frame rates and resolutions (as low as 25% of the target). This frees up the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 to focus on delivering optimal performance for the more demanding aspects of the game, resulting in smoother gameplay at up to 120fps and 1.5K resolution.

However, there's a catch. Only games certified with Pixelworks' new IRX rating are compatible with this technology. Currently, this includes titles like One Piece Fighting Path, Diablo: Immortal, Persona 5, and the Chinese version of CoD Mobile.

OnePlus claims that the Ace 3 Pro can run IRX-certified games as the developers intended, with potential improvements in power efficiency. However, rumors suggest that future devices with the rumored Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 might not require a separate co-processor for similar performance enhancements.
