The heavy presence of NVIDIA has not escaped the eyes of followers of PC gaming around the world. According to Jon Peddie Research, the picture looks even more assuring for NVIDIA in terms of dominance over its rivals in desktop graphics card sales in the first quarter of 2025.

According to analysts from Jon Peddie Research, as many as an incredible 9.2 million graphics adapters found their way into the hands of consumers in just the first three months of this year. After this impressive figure, NVIDIA has grown very spectacularly in terms of getting their fair share. Their market share increased to an almost insane 92% by an increase of 8.5%.

What about the other ones Well, AMD, NVIDIA's fiercest rival, has lost 7.3% of its share, leaving it with just 8% of the market. And as for Intel, the report states that in the case of dedicated desktop GPU competition, the company has completely failed to gain any traction, with its share falling by 1.2%, thus effectively relinquishing that market space.

Experts say a key factor for NVIDIA's ongoing growth is the successful rollout of quite a few GeForce RTX 50-series models in early 2025. These new cards have clearly struck a chord with gamers and PC builders alike.

While AMD did introduce new graphics cards based on their RDNA 4 architecture, they just haven't slowed down NVIDIA. On the other hand, Intel has had problems generating interest from the consumer market for dedicated graphics cards despite launching new products toward the end of last year.

It is important to mention that given the entire GPU market, which also incorporates integrated graphics solutions present in CPUs, a drop of 12% was noted in overall shipments for the first quarter from the same period last year. This underlines just how strong NVIDIA's performance is in the dedicated desktop card segment within a generally shrinking market.
