Lexar has introduced the PexarBolt Ultra TBT5 Dock, an expansive 22 port desktop hub equipped with Thunderbolt 5 connectivity and a 5 inch touch screen. Designed for both Windows and macOS workstations, the dock supports multiple high resolution monitors alongside fast internal SSD storage. The accessory is heading to Kickstarter with early backer pricing starting at $479 before reaching a retail price of $649.
The dock provides massive display bandwidth for demanding creative setups. Users can connect up to 2 monitors running at 8K resolution at 60Hz, or up to 3 displays at 4K resolution running at 144Hz. Video outputs include dedicated HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 2.1 jacks. The hub is built to drive complex multi screen desks without requiring extra splitters.
Power and data transfer speeds are anchored by 3 Thunderbolt 5 ports capable of delivering up to 80 Gbps bandwidth and up to 140W of charging power to a connected laptop. Peripheral options are equally generous. The chassis includes 5 USB C ports, 4 USB A ports, a 10 Gbps Ethernet port for fast local networking, and dedicated audio connections. Photographers can offload footage using integrated card readers that accept CF, SD, and microSD media cards.
A major visual highlight is the 5 inch touch screen mounted directly on the front panel. A physical rotary dial knob sits right beside the display for fast menu navigation. This screen shows live diagnostic information about connected accessories, real time power draw, internal component temperatures, and active data transfer speeds. It gives power users instant visibility into their hardware performance.
Storage expansion is built right into the enclosure. Inside, an integrated M.2 slot runs on PCIe Gen 4 x2 lanes, supporting solid state drives with read speeds up to 3600 MB/s. An active internal fan prevents thermal throttling during large file transfers. For office security, the body also includes a standard Kensington lock slot to secure the dock to a desk.
