Capcom just shared news about Resident Evil 9 Requiem, a new big part of the well-known scary game line. First looks from a demo only for the press show it's a very scary game.
Writers got to play as Grace, the first main person in the game. The demo put her in the dark Rhodes Hill Community Care Center, where it seems she's part of scary tests. She needs to get out by solving brain teasers and avoiding a new scary threat.
The show of the game made people say wow, with real-like face moves and dark mood lights adding to the fear.
The main bad guy here is a strong, human-like monster that's like ones from past games. This enemy is smart; it has fancy AI, hears well, and can even follow you into save rooms, where players usually feel safe. Think about how tense it is to move in the dark, with a loud cart, knowing this monster might show up any time.
Requiem lets players switch how they see the game, from first-person to third-person, like the newer remakes do. But some movie-like times make you stay in first-person to really feel the scene.
While Grace is the only sure main person now, the demo hints at another player you can control. This person's play seems more full of action, with more weapons. Leaks suggest this could mean Leon Kennedy might come back, but Capcom hasn't said yet.
Resident Evil 9 Requiem will come out on February 27, 2026. You can get it on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
