Dying Light: The Beast Pushed Back to September 19

Techland has put off its new open-world game, Dying Light: The Beast, by four weeks. First set to come out on August 22, it will now drop on September 19, 2025. The team said they need more time to polish the game.

Techland Talks About the New Launch Day

In a note to fans, the makers shared why they chose to wait. They want to make Dying Light: The Beast the top game in its set. They need until September 19 to meet this high mark.

"With just four more weeks, we can fix small bits that lift a game from good to great," they said. The crew will use this extra time to work on:

  • Right balance of game parts.
  • Clearer game screens (UI).
  • Better game action rules.
  • Upgrades to movie bits and how players move.
  • Other final bits.

Backdrop and What's to Come

This choice seems driven by their last game, Dying Light 2: Stay Human, which had so-so first reviews but got better after updates. Techland wants to skip that issue this time.

Fans can still see the game before it comes out in September. Dying Light: The Beast will be at Gamescom in Hall 6. Also, Techland will soon share a new behind-the-scenes look at the game's blood effects, told by 'Bober the Beaver'.
