Razer Reveals New Core X V2 eGPU with Thunderbolt 5
Razer has just put out the Core X V2, a new eGPU dock made to give you game play like on a desktop. The big thing about it is the Thunderbolt 5 port, which lets it move data at up to 80 Gbps, way more than before.
Main Features and What It Does
The Razer Core X V2 is made for strong work and new tech. Here are the main things it does:
- Fast Connect: Uses a Thunderbolt 5 port for up to 80 Gbps. It can still work with older Thunderbolt 4 and USB4 at up to 40 Gbps.
- Supports New GPUs: Works with the new NVIDIA RTX 50 cards and AMD Radeon RX 9000 cards.
- Big Size: Fits big desktop GPUs, even wide 4-slot ones.
- Strong Charging: Charges up to 140W Power Delivery (PD), powering most laptops and gaming gear with one plug.
- Keeps Cool: Has a 120mm fan that changes speed as needed, with side vents for good air flow.
Power Supply and Who Can Use It
It's key to know that the Core X V2 comes ready for a common ATX power unit, but it does not come with one. You'll have to use your own.
Price and When You Can Buy
Razer sets the price of the Core X V2 eGPU dock at $350. They haven't shared a set date or when you can buy it yet.
