Samsung Talks About Why the Galaxy Z Fold7 Battery Didn't Change

The new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 has a few big changes, like a tougher body and a better screen. But the battery size stayed almost the same as before. Samsung has now shared why they made this choice.

What Users Said Made the Difference

Samsung chose the design focus based on what different users said. For the Galaxy Z Flip line, users often said they wanted more battery life. So, the Z Flip7 got a battery boost from 4000 to 4300 mAh. But, users of the Galaxy Z Fold line asked for other things.

They Want It Thin, Light, and Strong

Samsung said that Z Fold fans cared more about having a better camera, a skinnier and lighter device, and a bigger screen. This year, the main aim for the Z Fold7 was to make it less bulky.

Looking Ahead for Big Battery Changes

Note that the Galaxy Z Fold line hasn't updated its battery size since the Z Fold3 came out in 2021. For a major bump in battery size later, Samsung said it must start using new battery tech, like those with a silicon-carbon anode.
