Ninja Gaiden 4 'The Two Masters' DLC Details New Weapons and After Story

Even before the release of Ninja Gaiden 4 on the 21st of October, a discussion about the first major DLC 'The Two Masters' with an early 2026 release for new weaponry, post-game story, and challenges has been released by developer Team Ninja.

New Content in 'The Two Masters' DLC

In a conversation on the Official Xbox Podcast, Game Director Masakazu Hirayama spoke about some of the fundamental features of the DLC being prepared for this action game.

New Weapons for Ryu and Yakumo

The DLC adds a unique brand-new weapon for each of the two main protagonists in the game, Ryu Hayabusa and Yakumo. Each weapon is designed to express or relate to the persona and fighting style of that particular character:

  • Yakumo's Weapon: Capturing his flamboyant approach to combat.
  • Ryu's Weapon: Built for precision, with strong and swift abilities. Both weapons will have different characteristics with a wide range of mechanics to learn.

Post-Game Story and Challenges

This DLC is about more than just new toys; it will involve large amounts of new playable content:

  • New Story Content: Set after the main Ninja Gaiden 4 campaign, the story will unfold through the eyes of both Ryu and Yakumo.
  • Post-Game Challenges: The new challenge content offered in this DLC is outside of the Ninja Trials occurring in the base game, thus an entirely new proposition for inviting difficulty on veteran players.

How to Access the DLC

To get the DLC of 'The Two Masters', players must buy either the Ninja Gaiden 4 Deluxe Edition or go for the Deluxe Edition Upgrade. The Deluxe Edition costs $20 more than the standard edition of the game.

Game Length and Release Information

This game is now expected to last between 15 and 20 hours of gameplay. But although the DLC would increase it, Team Ninja has not revealed by how much.

Ninja Gaiden 4, PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series SX are all slated to release on October 21.
