Exciting New Project Teased by Larian Studios Goes Back to Divinity Series
Speculation about a mysterious statue teaser for The Game Awards 2025 has shifted toward Larian Studios. Initially, the theories were around Diablo IV or Lords of the Fallen, but new findings appear to indicate that the team behind Baldur's Gate 3 is gearing up to launch a new Divinity RPG entry.
Trademark and Logo Connections
This follows the filing of a new trademark in Europe for the Divinity series. Observers noted that the logo connected to this trademark looks very similar to that of the statue that is causing all sorts of buzz on the internet. According to Geoff Keighley, this announcement related to this statue "will delight the public," which aligns perfectly with the high anticipation for what Larian is going to do next.
Not Divinity Original Sin 3
Even if there is strong evidence pointing towards a possible Divinity title, Larian Studios Publishing Director Michael Dowse, managed to run expectations on the specific nature of this game. Dowse explicitly stated that this company "has no plans for Divinity: Original Sin 3."
This careful phrasing suggests that it will belong to the universe of Divinity, but it is more likely going to have a different subtitle or venture outside the established parameters of the series, rather than being marketed as a numbered sequel to the Original Sin games.
Divinity Original Sin 2 for PlayStation 5
Besides this new project, there has also been a mention in PSN's database entry hinting at the prospective re-release of the famous title "Divinity: Original Sin 2," under the PS5. This native port would most probably be propounded at the same occasion as the new title.
Announcement Timing
Full revelations are expected to take place at The Game Awards 2025 on the night of December 11th to 12th.
