Corrections to Alienware Area-51 to include AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D Processor
Dell brought forth the revamped version of its Alienware Area-51 PC at CES 2026. The now revamped desktop gaming PC will include the just launched AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D processor. Other additions to the AMD Ryzen 9000 CPUs lineup include the introductory changes made in November of 2025.
Alienware Area-51 Specifications for 2026
More than just the addition of components, there's the whole chassis redesign; it went through that last year. The true specs are geared still toward a high-end performance full-tower enthusiast PC.
- New CPU Option: AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D (8-core)
- Other CPU Options: Up to a Ryzen 9 9950X3D
- Graphics: Configurable with up to NVIDIA RTX 5090 GPU
- Memory: Up to 64 GB of DDR5
- Storage: Up to 12 TB of total storage
- Cooling: Options include up to a 360 mm liquid cooler, but the case can support up to a 420 mm unit
- Power Supply: Available with 850 W or 1,500 W PSU.
Unchanged Design Restrictions
This update, however, has not fixed one of the more significant demerits from the prior iteration. The Alienware Area-51 motherboard is still limited to just two RAM slots, a huge constraint for users looking for maximum expansion potential in a full-tower rig.
Additional Features
Seven user-programmable AlienFX RGB lighting zones are still available, as are multiple connectivity ports on the top and rear of the chassis for easy access.
Availability
Therefore, the updated Alienware Area-51 will be available for purchase in February 2026 with Ryzen 7 9850X3D options, according to Dell. The price has not yet been announced, apparently owing to fluctuations in the memory market.
