HP Begins Sales of HyperX Omen 15 Gaming Laptop with RTX 5070 Graphics

HP Commences Retail Availability For HyperX Omen 15 Gaming Laptop Featuring Intel Core Ultra AMD Ryzen 7 Processors And RTX 5070 Graphics For North American Buyers

HP has commenced retail availability for their new smaller format gaming hardware in the form of the HyperX Omen 15, after its unveiling at the CES 26. The laptop, presented as a smaller form factor sibling to the existing Omen 16, has initially been restricted to North America, and the configurations available according to the HP US official website will come in 3 different versions which combine portability and performance.

In terms of their processor selection buyers can decide between the Intel Core Ultra 7 356H which utilizes Cougar Cove architecture and the AMD Ryzen 7 8745HX with its Zen 4 based cores. The benchmark figures place the Ryzen 7 8745HX lower in terms of raw performance compared to their contemporaries, although the processor choices available might expand with a later date.

Regardless of which processor they select the buyer will be given an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 mobile GPU which packs 8GB of its own VRAM; however to sustain this power portable they are treated to a 70 Wh battery. The standard configuration laptop boasts a 15.3 inch IPS display which has a 16:10 aspect ratio. With a 2560x1600 native resolution it has a maximum refresh rate of 180Hz and can be pushed to a 500 nit display. Buyers opting for a premium configuration can select the same model but with an 1800p OLED panel that is also 120Hz and has an even greater brightness that can reach a high of 1100 nits during HDR loads.

The pricing for the HyperX Omen 15 ranges from $2099. For this baseline a user gets a Core Ultra 7 356H configuration with 32GB RAM, 1TB storage, an RTX 5070 GPU and the 180Hz IPS panel. Alternatively, a buyer could opt for the Ryzen 7 8745HX configured machine, priced at the same 2099, with only 16GB RAM but otherwise same other specs. A premium Core Ultra 9 variant equipped with the superior 120Hz OLED panel and 32GB RAM comes in at $2799.

Shipping estimations are as follows depending on the chosen processor. Both the Core Ultra 7 356H and the Ryzen 7 8745HX configured devices should start shipping out around mid summer, while for the higher end Core Ultra 9 386H models there are estimates for shipping availability to be later in the spring.
