OnePlus OxygenOS Update Rollback Due to Severe System Bugs and Software Stability Issues

OnePlus Withdraws OxygenOS Firmware Updates Following Reports of Severe System Bugs and Unstable Software Builds Impacting Users Globally

OnePlus has officially rolled back the latest OxygenOS firmware update due to severe technical bugs identified in the software builds. The withdrawal is being immediately applied to versions 16.0.7.XXX and 16.0.5.XXX, both of which have left a large percentage of users struggling with an unstable system following their attempt to update their hardware. The manufacturer published a statement that they have stopped the rollout in order to isolate the lines of code which cause the system malfunctions.

Users experienced sudden shutdowns and crashes when opening applications due to the buggy system according to messages and threads published on the OnePlus forums and official community page. The instability problems occur immediately after applying the new patches and following their introduction. OnePlus has apologized to users who have been affected, and has also confirmed that they are investigating the quality and testing procedures so that the same problem doesn't happen in the future.

There is currently no expected date for the release of a patched version. If you are a user who has already applied version 16.0.7.XXX or 16.0.5.XXX, you should back up your personal files to prevent losing any data. OnePlus is devoting an adequate amount of their internal engineers to reinforcing their quality assurance system.
