Geekom A9 Max Mini PC Refresh Features AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 APU With Enhanced IceBlast 3.0 Cooling And High Memory Support
Geekom is releasing a refresh of its A9 Max mini PC that uses the newer AMD Gorgon Point silicon instead of the Strix Point platform previously, as reported on official Geekom product pages. The unit is built around a Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 APU, offering a modest computing boost over its predecessor's HX 370, though it is less potent than the flagship A9 Mega's giant Strix Halo processor.
For multitasking extremes, the motherboard supports 128GB of memory capacity and is also designed to provide enough cooling power for the increased power consumption of the latest AMD silicon thanks to the third generation iteration of Geekom's proprietary cooling system. Geekom reports that the IceBlast 3.0 thermal system has been made 52% more efficient for better sustain clock speeds under load, though a baseline is not provided.
In terms of I/O, physical connectivity is the same as previous hardware revisions as well as the existing chassis design. The exterior of the A9 Max features 2 USB4 ports along with five USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type A ports and a 2.5Gb Ethernet port. Geekom is listing the initial street price for a model of the machine sold in the U.S. At $1,799, featuring 32GB RAM and 2TB SSD, down from the $2,299 MSRP.
