Sony Raising PlayStation Plus Prices for New Global Users While Protecting Current Members with Exceptions for Turkey and India
Sony is raising the prices of PlayStation Plus for new users in several countries globally. According to a release from Sony through its official PlayStation social media page, it is raising prices to account for market conditions. This price adjustment specifically applies to both new users of the PlayStation Plus service and existing users with lapsed accounts.

This is also applying to both of the time commitments of the new PlayStation Plus plans, 1 month and quarterly membership. The price for a 1 month plan for new users is $10.99 USD / €9.99 / £7.99, while the price for a quarterly membership plan for new users is $27.99 USD / €27.99 / £21.99.
If you are a current PlayStation Plus member who is continuing to use your service without changing plans, you will not be affected by this announcement and will be keeping your current monthly rate. This will be applied once your existing plan expires or you make a change to your plan.
However, there are 2 exceptions for all users regardless of plan. Sony announced that new and old PlayStation Plus users in Turkey and India will both need to pay the new price increases. This shows that localized market prices may need to affect the service’s global price.
