GMKtec launches EVO X3 mini PC in China featuring Ryzen AI Max Plus 395 and 128GB memory for local AI and large language models
GMKtec launched the EVO X3 mini PC to the Chinese market targeting directly artificial intelligence workloads and complex calculation workloads popular inside the country. Official GMKtec release notes that this flagship mini design targets heavily run large language models to be run locally with top silicon and gigantically high memory capacity inside.
The foundation of this hardware is the 16 core AMD Ryzen AI Max Plus 395 and built in Radeon 8060S graphics. It is a processor with a dedicated neural processing unit based on XDNA2 architecture that can reach a theoretical maximum combined AI compute ceiling of 126 TOPS, with an NPU performance of 50 TOPS. For this hardware, the users have 128GB of speed tested system memory at 8000 MT/s, with up to 96 GB of the available pool of memory directly dedicated to the internal GPU.
There are 2 M.2 slots (capped at PCIe 4.0 x4) on the motherboard with a maximum storage capacity of 16TB. For cooling, there is a dedicated active cooling setup using 3 copper heat pipes and 3 separate fan modules. This setup is enabled with 3 different modes of operation so that the cooling setup and noise becomes proportionate to the load the machine is subject to.
EVO X3 37 is preloaded with a Claw AI software client, tailored to work within the AMD ROCm ecosystem for easier local deployment of large language models. The hardware port options comprise an OCuLink port for high bandwidth external GPU connection as well as a USB4 port. Networking options include 2.5 Gbps Ethernet port and integrated Wi FI 7 wireless module.
The prices of the GMKtec Evo X3 in entry configuration begin from $3205 (including 128 GB basic memory and 1TB solid state drive). Those who need larger factory drive can choose to have 4 TB drive and spend up to $3796 on the local market.
