New Slate Truck electric pickup pricing increased with battery size range and utility improvements ahead of current year release
The new Slate Truck electric pickup has been heavily revised in terms of pricing and specifications ahead of its scheduled release in the market. The price has been increased by nearly 25% over the earlier estimated cost but has been offset by the increase in battery size, range and the limits to the utility.
At the first presentation, the proposed $20000 before federal incentives was rough estimate by the car new startup. The current price for base rear wheel drive car is $24950, and the all terrain specialized vehicle is $29950. So to add up that to the pushing up of price, the startup used a new 65k Wh lithium iron phosphate battery.
This battery upgrade increases the range forecast to 330 km which is a rather substantial leap from the previously promised 240 km. The same economical choice accounts for the other aspect of performance that has been sacrificed namely, the single electric engine which now has an output of 181 ponies as opposed to the early 201 ponies, although it still outputs 264 Nm of torque. This gives the premium pickups a 0 to 100 km per hour acceleration in about 8 seconds and a top speed that is electronically limited to 145 km per hour.
All of the pickups and SUVs have received upward revisions to accommodate the commercial and recreational market. Payload on the pickup has been increased to 703 kilograms and towing capacity has been rated at 907 kilograms. The SUV cousin has a slightly lower payload and towing rating due to it is enclosed cabin. Both vehicles share a common modular chassis and owners have the option to change body panels to convert a pickup into an SUV after purchase.
The company currently has 175 official accessories and offers more than 100 different vinyl wrap kits. As all cars leave the assembly line painted gray, the automaker sells a whole lot of vinyl color wraps for less than 500 dollars. In terms of interior design, it features minimalism and there is still a physical button panel, but no built in central touch screen, since the dashboard is designed to hold the buyers tablet or cell phone to handle navigation and media.
Average sales for both the truck and the SUV configurations will commence in the 4 th quarter of the current year. Consumer confidence on the new platform is boosted by providing an entirely comprehensive warranty on the battery pack and electric powertrain which covers a 10 year/177000 km drive coverage.
