Publisher Playstack and development studio Cold Symmetry have officially revealed the release plans for Mortal Shell 2. The announcement was accompanied by a 2 minute promotional video showcasing the dark fantasy world and updated visual style of the action RPG sequel. This new entry builds upon the mechanics established in the original game, offering players a significantly larger world and refined combat systems.
In this sequel players assume the role of the Harbinger, a mysterious entity sent on a hazardous quest to retrieve stolen objects and eliminate hostile creatures. The primary gameplay mechanic from the first installment returns, enabling the protagonist to occupy the physical forms of defeated warriors. Locating these different bodies allows players to adopt varied combat styles, weapon proficiencies, and strategic advantages during battles.
Exploration has been expanded with a focus on labyrinthine level design. The world contains numerous hidden paths, valuable equipment, and lore elements that flesh out the background of the universe. The development team has confirmed that the final game will feature more than 60 dungeons, representing a substantial increase in scale and replayability compared to the previous title.
Pre orders for the game are currently active across multiple platform storefronts. The standard edition is priced at 50 dollars for users on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series console platforms. PC players can purchase the standard digital version through Steam, where the game is priced at 2299 rubles. Further gameplay demonstrations are expected as the final release window approaches.
