OPPO has launched the basic K15, a mid range smartphone that brings active cooling to the budget sector. The device pairs an integrated fan with an enormous 8000 mAh battery to ensure sustained performance during long gaming sessions. But the initial release is currently limited to the Chinese market.
To prevent thermal throttling under heavy loads, the phone uses a physical cooling fan integrated directly into the chassis. This active cooling setup manages the heat produced by the 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7360 SUPER processor. The chip runs up to 2.5 GHz and is paired with Mali G615 graphics. Performance holds steady thanks to 12GB of LPDDR4X memory and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. This is the only memory configuration available for purchase.
The front of the device features a flat 6.59 inch OLED display. It outputs a resolution of 2760 by 1256 pixels with a fluid 120Hz refresh rate. For security, an optical fingerprint sensor is embedded beneath the glass. Flipping the phone over reveals a rear setup with 2 camera sensors capturing 50 megapixels each. The primary lens features optical and electronic stabilization while the secondary lens handles wide angle shots. Selfies are handled by another 50 megapixel sensor on the front. All 3 cameras can shoot video in 4K resolution at 30 frames per second.
Battery life is the standout feature for this model. The phone houses a massive 8000 mAh battery that supports 80W fast charging. It runs the new Android 16 operating system with the ColorOS 16 skin. Connectivity options include Wi Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, and 5G cellular bands. There is also an infrared port, NFC, and stereo speakers. The entire package is highly durable, achieving an IP69 rating against water and dust ingress. It weighs 205 grams and measures 8.27 millimeters thick.
Buyers can choose between gray and white color options. According to details from the official release in China, the lone 12GB and 256GB version is currently selling for 2299 yuan, which is about 339 dollars. There is no official word yet on global availability.
