Suzuki has introduced the e Sky, a compact electric 5 door vehicle designed specifically for city driving. The Japanese kei car prioritizes light weight and high efficiency over a massive battery pack, squeezing 310 km of driving range out of a 26 kWh cell. Suzuki plans to reveal official pricing closer to its market release in Japan this autumn.
The engineering team kept the curb weight down to just 1030 kg. Exterior dimensions measure 3395 mm long, 1475 mm wide, and 1625 mm tall, riding on a 2460 mm wheelbase. Under the floor sits a 26 kWh LFP battery that consumes just 97 Wh per km. This focus on lower weight allows the car to achieve its 310 km range without the cost or bulk of larger commercial battery packs.
Charging options cover both fast roadside stops and standard home outlets. The vehicle accepts DC fast charging up to 50 kW, which fills the battery up to 80% in about 25 minutes. Charging via standard AC power takes roughly 8 hours at 3 kW, or 4.5 hours when connected to a 6 kW wallbox. Suzuki also included bidirectional charging support, allowing the car to feed electricity back into external gear or home power setups.
Urban maneuverability is a strong point, with a tight turning radius of 4.4 meters. The vehicle runs strictly on a front wheel powertrain and includes a dedicated one pedal mode. A heat pump helps manage cabin temperatures without heavily cutting into winter range. Inside the cabin, drivers get a digital instrument cluster alongside a 10.1 inch touchscreen for media and navigation.
