TECNO has launched the MEGAPAD SE 2, a budget friendly tablet packing a sharp 2K display and built in mobile connectivity. The device runs on a MediaTek Helio G88 processor with a 7000 mAh battery to handle daily tasks. It is currently available in Philippines starting at PHP 13,499 about $220 US.
The screen is the main selling point here. You get a 9.7 inch IPS panel with a resolution of 2048x1280 pixels and a smooth 90 Hz refresh rate. Peak brightness tops out at 550 nits, which should be plenty for indoor viewing. TECNO also claims 100% sRGB color space coverage. For audio, the tablet includes stereo speakers, making it a solid little entertainment machine for streaming video.
Under the hood, performance is fairly modest. The tablet runs on a MediaTek Helio G88 chip alongside 4 GB of RAM and 256 GB of onboard storage. That amount of memory is a bit tight for heavy multitasking, but storage is generous. If you need more room for movies or documents, a microSD slot lets you expand the capacity by up to 2 TB.
Powering everything is a 7000 mAh battery that charges at 18W. On the software side, the device ships with HiOS 16 running on top of Android 16. Both the front and rear cameras use 8 MP sensors for casual photos and video calls. You also get cellular connectivity through a nano SIM slot with 4G support, plus standard Wi Fi and Bluetooth.
Buyers can pick up the tablet in 3 color choices: gray, beige, and blue. While it is currently priced at $220 for the Philippines market, global availability details have yet to be shared.
