MediaTek has expanded its top tier lineup with the new Dimensity 9600M processor. The silicon targets flagship level mobile performance, offering 185fps gaming support and dedicated on device artificial intelligence tools. The first smartphones running the hardware are scheduled to hit the market later this quarter.
MediaTek built the chip to sit right below its Pro variant without sacrificing daily responsiveness. It uses an Agentic AI Engine to manage real time tasks directly on the hardware rather than routing queries through external servers. An updated scheduling system handles background operations to keep energy consumption low during heavy multitasking. The onboard NPU also powers always active environmental perception and immediate camera processing.
Gaming is another clear focus. Mobile players get a boost with the integrated HyperEngine suite, which pushes frame rates up to 185fps in supported titles. Fast cellular and wireless radios handle multiplayer stability to keep latency low. For photography, the image signal processor handles live subject tracking alongside real time computational image corrections. Phones running both the Dimensity 9600 Pro and the 9600M will arrive on store shelves before the end of the quarter.
