Minisforum MS S1 MAX P495 Mini Workstation Features AMD Ryzen AI Max Plus PRO 495

Minisforum has confirmed that its new MS S1 MAX P495 mini workstation will go on sale later this month. Powered by the AMD Ryzen AI Max Plus PRO 495 processor, the compact PC packs 192GB of unified memory with support for running massive local AI models. However, the company has not yet revealed official retail pricing.

Memory capacity is the main selling point here. The compact workstation packs 192GB of LPDDR5X 8533 unified memory into its desktop chassis. Users can assign up to 160GB strictly as dedicated video memory. That is enough space to load massive language models without needing multiple discrete graphics cards. This unified design gives developers a way to run demanding local models without investing in bulky enterprise server racks.

Internal test data from Minisforum shows solid speeds for local inference tasks. The system processes DeepSeek V4 Flash 284B at Q4 quantization at an output rate of 15 tokens per second. When testing a 122B model at Q8 quantization, output speeds jump to 27 tokens per second. It also keeps a massive 131K context window fully resident in memory at Q8 precision, preventing memory overflow during long text analysis.

This release upgrades the earlier MS S1 MAX 395 workstation, which used standard AMD Ryzen AI Max Plus 395 silicon. The chassis design, internal cooling setup, and external port selection remain largely identical to that previous build. Minisforum will start selling the new model before the end of the month, though buyers will need to wait for regional distribution details to see final pricing.
