Anduril and Qualcomm Reveal BlueChip Domestic Computing Platform

Anduril and Qualcomm have introduced BlueChip, a hardware project aimed at rebuilding American computer manufacturing. The initial product is a defense grade laptop running on Qualcomm Snapdragon X Series processors with on device artificial intelligence capabilities. Working prototypes exist today, with commercial orders scheduled to open in 2027.

Decades of offshoring left critical American sectors dependent on foreign electronics factories. BlueChip plans to reverse that reality. Components sourced from domestic and allied nation vendors account for more than 90% of the initial prototype procurement costs. Final assembly will take place inside the United States, with circuit board fabrication assigned to the Anduril Arsenal 1 facility in Ohio.

Designing a computer for domestic production required rethinking core hardware components. Anduril engineered the chassis to match domestic metal machining capabilities, developed a custom glass bonding process for American display suppliers, and configured power circuits to work with existing domestic battery tech. Qualcomm provides the core silicon, supplying general computing cores, graphical processing, and on device AI tasks.

The hardware is built specifically for defense agencies, public safety operators, and critical infrastructure teams. Complete American computer production requires more than domestic silicon fabs; it demands circuit boards, batteries, and display panels made domestically. BlueChip intends to expand its manufacturing ecosystem step by step, using the initial laptop architecture to support future computing devices across government and civilian industries. Prospective organizational buyers can register interest directly through the official Anduril web portal.
