Apple is preparing the iPhone 18e as a compact entry into its future smartphone lineup. According to leaked details from Digital Chat Station, the device retains a smaller physical footprint while scaling back several hardware features compared to premium models. The handset is currently expected to launch in 2027.
Apple equips the phone with a 6.12 inch OLED screen featuring a standard 60 Hz refresh rate. The device runs on the next generation A20 processor manufactured on a 2nm process. This setup gives the smaller chassis modern processing speed while keeping display costs down.
The rear camera array relies on a single 48 MP primary sensor instead of a multi lens setup. Up front, Apple upgrades the selfie camera to a 24 MP sensor to boost video call clarity and photo quality. These hardware choices position the phone as an entry option focused on core features rather than flagship photography.
