Arctic Fox has launched the Super Mouse, a square shaped desktop peripheral that integrates a color touchscreen directly beneath your palm. The device functions as a trackpad, macro controller, and mobile style swipe keyboard alongside standard mouse inputs. Crowdfunding is currently live on Kickstarter for $199 ahead of an eventual $249 retail release, with shipments planned for early next year.
The hardware centers on a 3.1 inch square touchscreen outputting 720x720 resolution. Arctic Fox placed standard left and right click buttons, a scroll wheel, and 2 customizable keys directly above the display. The screen lets users type messages using thumb swipes or open software through a custom dashboard. Up to 16 custom shortcuts, macros, or application launchers can be assigned per profile, with the screen automatically changing based on your active program.
Workflow integration runs through a companion desktop program called Flow. When editing video in Adobe Premiere, the screen displays playback controls and editing cuts. The device also syncs with Google Calendar to show meeting reminders, tracks daily productivity times, and runs local speech to text. An internal gyroscope allows users to control slide presentations or scrub video timelines simply by waving the mouse in the air.
The square body prioritizes screen utility over ergonomic curves. Power delivery relies entirely on a wired USB C connection, as the unit lacks an internal battery and does not support wireless operation. Backers on Kickstarter can reserve the device at the discounted price, though crowdfunding hardware frequently encounters production delays before reaching retail shelves.
