HP has launched the Star Book Air 14, an ultra thin laptop running on an Intel Core 5 320 processor with an OLED touch display. The aluminum machine weighs just 1.16 kilograms and delivers up to 42.5 hours of battery life from a 60Wh cell. Available for reservation in China at 5299 yuan ($740 USD), the model corresponds to the overseas OmniBook 5 14 priced at $699.99 USD.
The chassis measures 11.77 millimeters thick and features the premium HP slash logo on the lid. The aluminum alloy body opens flat across a 180 degree hinge and comes in 4 colors: starry blue, ash silver, peony pink, and cantaloupe green. Up front sits a 14 inch OLED screen with a 1920x1200 resolution and 10 point touch support. The panel carries TUV hardware low blue light and HP Eye Ease certifications to reduce eye strain during extended work sessions.
HP equips the laptop with an Intel Core 5 320 processor, 16GB of system memory, and a 512GB solid state drive. The internal 60Wh battery yields up to 42.5 hours of operating time on a single charge. Port selection includes 2 full feature USB C ports and 1 HDMI 2.1 video output. Video conferencing relies on an FHD IR camera paired with dual microphones and Windows Hello facial recognition. Poly handles the internal speaker tuning with DTS X Ultra audio certification.
Initial retail pricing on JD starts at 5299 yuan ($740 USD). The equivalent international variant, the OmniBook 5 14, retails for $699.99 USD.
