HUAWEI has launched the Ruiying Z10, an external optical camera attachment designed for the Mate 90 Pro Max and Mate 90 RS Ultimate Design. The modular unit transforms the phone into a dedicated camera setup using a 1 inch 50 MP sensor and a 24 to 240 mm variable aperture lens system. The accessory is available in China across 2 compatible versions for an official price of $840.
The optical assembly consists of 19 individual glass elements arranged into 6 groups. This configuration includes 3 extra low dispersion elements, 5 low dispersion elements, and 9 submicron precision aspherical lenses to minimize optical distortion across the entire zoom range. The lens covers focal lengths from 24 to 240 mm, providing true 10x optical zoom capabilities. Aperture values shift physically from f/2.0 at the wide end to f/4.5 at maximum focal reach.
Image capture relies on a large 1 inch 50 MP RYYB sensor paired with an onboard 4th generation image signal processor. The module includes dedicated onboard memory to process raw image files without creating bandwidth bottlenecks on the connected phone. Video recording supports continuous focal transitions from 1x to 10x magnification in low light environments. Users manage the hardware through a dedicated software interface that applies proprietary XMAGE color profiles to photos and video clips.
