iQOO has launched the Neo12 in China, introducing a dedicated gaming smartphone equipped with an industry first 185Hz AMOLED display and Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 silicon. The handset features an internal cooling fan alongside a massive 9000mAh battery supporting 100W flash charging. Retail pricing begins at 4399 yuan (around $659) with open sales underway in the domestic market.
iQOO powers the Neo12 with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 silicon alongside an in house Q3 secondary gaming chip. Heat management relies on an active 59 blade fan measuring 17 millimeters across, boosting airflow by 10% through customized air ducts. An 8.2K 3D vapor chamber plate increases thermal efficiency by 15% over the prior model. The Q3 chip processes real time ray tracing across 10 games, with concurrent frame interpolation and 2K resolution upscaling supported in 12 mobile titles. Memory configurations offer 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM with up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage running OriginOS 7 on top of Android 17.
The front sports a 6.85 inch 2K AMOLED screen reaching 2200 nits of peak brightness. A custom display driver chip reduces screen power draw by 30% while increasing processing speed by 28%. Touch tracking runs at ultra responsive speeds, supported by 2160Hz PWM dimming for low light play. The chassis comes in Contender, Shadow Black, and Frost Blade Blue colorways. It combines an anti glare frosted glass back with a matte metal middle frame, protected against dust and water via IP68 and IP69 ratings.
The rear camera module carries a 50 MP Sony IMX921 primary sensor with optical image stabilization and an f/1.88 lens aperture. It sits next to an 8 MP ultra wide camera, while a 16 MP front sensor handles selfies. In China, the base 12GB and 256GB model costs 4399 yuan ($659). The 16GB and 256GB version costs 4799 yuan ($719). Upgrading to 512GB of storage brings the price to 5099 yuan ($765) for 12GB of RAM and 5499 yuan ($824) for 16GB of RAM.
