MAXSUN has partnered with Intel to develop and manufacture hardware based on the upcoming Intel GPU D Series, codenamed Crescent Island. Announced at the Intel LOEM Summit, the project spans 3 distinct hardware designs built for workstations, servers, and edge computing. Production plans are currently underway, though release windows and retail pricing remain unconfirmed.
MAXSUN splits the Crescent Island family across 3 specific deployment types. A Turbo model features a blower fan cooling setup engineered for desktop PC workstations needing directed exhaust airflow. A fanless variant relies on passive heat sinks to operate inside silent or rackmount server enclosures. The third configuration places the graphics processor into a compact mini PC built specifically for edge AI processing tasks.
The mini PC version prioritizes chassis dimensions without sacrificing processing power. MAXSUN stated that the physical footprint will stay tightly controlled to fit restricted office and industrial environments while maintaining high compute density. This collaboration marks an expansion for MAXSUN beyond traditional consumer graphics boards into specialized commercial and enterprise computing hardware.
