OnePlus Teases New Ace 5 Ultra and Ace 5 Racing Edition Phones
The company has officially started teasing its new Chinese phones: the OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra and the OnePlus Ace 5 Racing Edition. They've given us a small tease of what they look like and some juicy bites about what powers them.
A Peek Inside the Screens and Powerhouses
As of today, the two phones are reported to feature flat OLED screens, which are favored by most. Here's the brief summary:
- The Ace 5 Racing Edition will probably feature a 6.77-inch screen with crisp 1.5K resolution and super-smooth 144Hz refresh rate.
- The Ace 5 Ultra will feature a slightly larger 6.83-inch display.
And now, let's talk about what lies under the hood. The "racing" model, the Ace 5 Racing Edition, is rumored to pack a Mediatek Dimensity 9400e processor. It's also rumored to carry a massive 7000 mAh battery that gets recharged at 80W – that's plenty of staying power. The pièce de résistance, the Ace 5 Ultra, will supposedly blow minds with a premium Dimensity 9400+ chip and even faster 100W charging.
Memory Choices and Peep Camera
OnePlus seems to be offering plenty of choices in memory and storage. The OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra will come in a reported five variations, ranging from 12GB RAM + 256GB storage to an enormous 16GB RAM + 1TB storage. The Ace 5 Racing Edition will offer four choices, with the flagship being 16GB RAM + 512GB storage.
On the camera front, both phones should feature a 50-megapixel main camera. OnePlus is also confidently asserting that these new phones will run heavy open-world games at 1.5K resolution smoothly with 120 frames per second. Gamers, take note.
